Jesus and Mary
Jesus Christ Who is the same yesterday, today, and forever, honors His Mother Mary eternally.
LUKE 11:27-28
LK 11:27 As he said these things, a woman in the crowd spoke out to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you and the breasts at which you nursed!”
LK 11:28 But he replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it!”
In the above passages, Jesus, as God and being God, educated the woman and all of us that we should look at Mary, first and foremost, as “those who hear the word of God and obey it!”
MARY HEARD THE WORD OF GOD AND OBEYED IT
Mary is the sublime hearer, doer and keeper of the word of God when she gave to God thru the angel Gabriel her unconditional fiat or decree that she will do everything according to the word of God in this wise:
LK 1:26-37 And in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God into a city of Galilee, called Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.  And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.  Who having heard, was troubled at his saying, and thought with herself what manner of salutation this should be.  And the angel said to her: Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found grace with God.  Behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and shalt bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name Jesus.  He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the most High; and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father; and he shall reign in the house of Jacob for ever.  And of his kingdom there shall be no end.  And Mary said to the angel: How shall this be done, because I know not man?  And the angel answering, said to her: The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the most High shall overshadow thee. And therefore also the Holy which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.  And behold thy cousin Elizabeth, she also hath conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her that is called barren: Because no word shall be impossible with God.
LK 1:38 And Mary said: Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it done to me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.
LK 1:41-44 And it came to pass, that when Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the infant leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: And she cried out with a loud voice, and said: Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.  And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?  For behold as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy.
LK 1:45 And blessed art thou that hast believed, because those things shall be accomplished that were spoken to thee by the Lord.
AND BECAUSE MARY HEARD, OBEYED, BELIEVED AND KEPT THE WORD OF GOD, AND INSPIRED BY THE HOLY CHILD IN HER WOMB (ISA 9:6), SHE PRAISED GOD FOR MAKING HER BLESSED FOR ALL GENERATIONS
Lk 1:46-49 And Mary said: My soul doth magnify the Lord.  And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.  Because he hath regarded the humility of his handmaid; for behold from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.  Because he that is mighty, hath done great things to me; and holy is his name.
Therefore, Jesus did not dishonor His mother, but rather, He did her much honour by subliming her as the utmost role model that all the faithful and obedient children of God should imitate when He said of His mother:
“Blessed rather are those (Virgin Mary) who hear the word of God and obey it (cf LK 11:28, emphasis mine)!”
Only the wicked men will dare say Jesus did not do much honour to Mary in LK 11:28
1. If Jesus said these:
MT 15:4 “For God said, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and ‘Whoever curses father or mother shall die.’”
MK 10:19 “You know the commandments: ‘You shall not kill; you shall not commit adultery; you shall not steal; you shall not bear false witness; you shall not defraud; honor your father and your mother.’”
2. And if Jesus did not come to abolish the commandment but to fulfill them:
MT 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill.”
3. And if Jesus is not lying:
1 PT 2:21-22 For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example that you should follow in his footsteps.  “He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.”
4. Then, Jesus did not and cannot dishonor His mother otherwise He will be breaking His own law and deceit will be found in his mouth.
Conclusion:
Therefore, only the wicked men dare say Jesus did not do much honour to Mary in LK 11:28!
