The Divinity of Jesus Christ Revealed
GOD’S REVELATION THAT THE SON WAS GOD, CHRIST AND LORD WHO CREATED THE UNIVERSE WAS WRITTEN IN THE LETTER TO THE HEBREWS:
[Note: Unless otherwise specified, all Bible quotations are from the Amplified Bible (AMP).]
HEB 1:8 But as to the Son, He says to Him, Your throne, O God, is forever and ever (to the ages of the ages), and the scepter of Your kingdom is a scepter of absolute righteousness (of justice and straightforwardness).
HEB 1:9 You have loved righteousness [You have delighted in integrity, virtue, and uprightness in purpose, thought, and action] and You have hated lawlessness (injustice and iniquity). Therefore God, [even] Your God (Godhead), has anointed You with the oil of exultant joy and gladness above and beyond Your companions.
HEB 1:10 And [further], You, Lord, did lay the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the works of Your hands.
Contemplating on Hebrews 1:8-10, the following truths were gleaned:
• In Hebrews 1:8, God the Father called the Son God: “YOUR THRONE, O GOD…”  (Emphasis mine)
• In Hebrews 1:9, God the Father again called the Son God: “THEREFORE GOD (referring to the SON), [EVEN] YOUR GOD (GODHEAD, referring to the FATHER)…”  (Emphasis mine)
• In Hebrews 1:9, God the Father anointed the Son making Him Christ before He created the heavens and the earth: “THEREFORE GOD (referring to the SON), [EVEN] YOUR GOD (GODHEAD, referring to the FATHER), HAS ANOINTED YOU…”  (Emphasis mine)
• In Hebrews 1:10, God the Father called the Son Lord who created the heavens and the earth: “AND [FURTHER], YOU, LORD (referring to the SON), DID LAY THE FOUNDATION OF THE EARTH IN THE BEGINNING, AND THE HEAVENS ARE THE WORKS OF YOUR HANDS.”  (Emphasis mine)
If we substitute the word “SON” in place of “God (that refers to the Son),” and the word “FATHER” in place of “God or pronoun (that refers to the Father),” we have the equivalent passage:
HEB 1:8 But as to the Son, the Father says to Him, Your throne, O SON, is forever and ever (to the ages of the ages), and the scepter of Your kingdom is a scepter of absolute righteousness (of justice and straightforwardness).
9 You have loved righteousness [You have delighted in integrity, virtue, and uprightness in purpose, thought, and action] and You have hated lawlessness (injustice and iniquity). Therefore SON, [even] Your FATHER (Godhead), has anointed You with the oil of exultant joy and gladness above and beyond Your companions.
LET US CONTEMPLATE ON HEBREWS 1 A LITTLE MORE:
• HEB 1:1 In many separate revelations [each of which set forth a portion of the Truth] and in different ways God spoke of old to [our] forefathers in and by the prophets,
The God referred to in Hebrews 1:1 above who “spoke of old to [our] forefathers in and by the prophets” is none other than the WORD:
JN 1:1-3 In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.  He was present originally with God.  All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being.
The WORD is the Spirit of Christ who was the God coexistent eternally with God the Father and who created all things and also dwells within the prophets of old and spoke in and by them to our forefathers:
1PT 1:10 The prophets, who prophesied of the grace (divine blessing) which was intended for you, searched and inquired earnestly about this salvation.
1PT 1:11 They sought [to find out] to whom or when this was to come which the Spirit of Christ working within them was indicating when He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that should follow [them].
1PT 1:12 It was then disclosed to them that the services they were rendering were not meant for themselves and their period of time, but for you. [It is these very] things which have now already been made known plainly to you by those who preached the good news (the Gospel) to you by the [same] Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Into these things [the very] angels long to look!
• HEB 1:2a [But] in the last of these days He has spoken to us in [the person of a] Son, Whom He appointed Heir and lawful Owner of all things,
In Hebrews 1:1, the God who “spoke of old to [our] forefathers in and by the prophets” is the WORD aka the Spirit of Christ who also promised to put His Spirit upon His Servant:
IS 42:1 Behold my Servant, Whom I uphold, My elect in Whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice and right and reveal truth to the nations.
IS 61:1-2 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor, and afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound, To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord [the year of His favor] and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,
The Servant of the Spirit of Christ is none other than Jesus, who is the Embodiment or the Incarnation of His Spirit:
ACTS 3:13 The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our forefathers, has glorified His Servant and Son Jesus [doing Him this honor], Whom you indeed delivered up and denied and rejected and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had determined to let Him go (see also ACTS 4:27, 30).
Thus, the Spirit of Christ who was the God coexistent eternally with God the Father and who created all things and who also dwells in the prophets of old and spoke in and by them to our forefathers was infused into the Soul and Body of Jesus (cf 1THES 5:23; WISDOM 15:11).
That is why the Lord Jesus said three times that the Father is in Him, and He is in the Father, and that He and the Father are one:
JN 10:38 But if I do them, even though you do not believe Me or have faith in Me, [at least] believe the works and have faith in what I do, in order that you may know and understand [clearly] that the Father is in Me, and I am in the Father [One with Him].
JN 14:10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in Me? What I am telling you I do not say on My own authority and of My own accord; but the Father Who lives continually in Me does the (His) works (His own miracles, deeds of power).
JN 14:11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me; or else believe Me for the sake of the [very] works themselves. [If you cannot trust Me, at least let these works that I do in My Father’s name convince you.]
JN 10:30 I and the Father are One.
Ergo, the Spirit of Christ or Christ Himself and the Father are One.
Moving on…
Isaiah 42:1 above was fulfilled in Matthew 12:15-18, in this wise:
MT 12:15 But being aware of this, Jesus went away from there. And many people joined and accompanied Him, and He cured all of them, And strictly charged them and sharply warned them not to make Him publicly known.  This was in fulfillment of what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah, Behold, My Servant Whom I have chosen, My Beloved in and with Whom My soul is well pleased and has found its delight. I will put My Spirit upon Him, and He shall proclaim and show forth justice to the nations.
Isaiah 61:1-2 above was fulfilled in Luke 4:16-21, in this wise:
LK 4:16-21 So He came to Nazareth, [that Nazareth] where He had been brought up, and He entered the synagogue, as was His custom on the Sabbath day. And He stood up to read.  And there was handed to Him [the roll of] the book of the prophet Isaiah. He opened (unrolled) the book and found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me [the Anointed One, the Messiah] to preach the good news (the Gospel) to the poor; He has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed [who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity], To proclaim the accepted and acceptable year of the Lord [the day when salvation and the free favors of God profusely abound].  Then He rolled up the book and gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were gazing [attentively] at Him.  And He began to speak to them: Today this Scripture has been fulfilled while you are present and hearing.
Here is another proof that the Spirit of Christ (the Anointed one) was coexistent with the Father and that Jesus is the Embodiment or the Incarnation of Christ:
In the Old Testament, the kings on earth rise up and princes plot together against the LORD and his anointed:
PS 2:1-3 Why do the nations assemble with commotion [uproar and confusion of voices], and why do the people imagine (meditate upon and devise) an empty scheme?  The kings of the earth take their places; the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and His Anointed One (the Messiah, the Christ). They say, Let us break Their bands [of restraint] asunder and cast Their cords [of control] from us.
In the New Testament, the Anointed One of the Lord was embodied and identified as “the holy Child and Servant Jesus”:
ACTS 4:23-28 After they were permitted to go, [the apostles] returned to their own [company] and told all that the chief priests and elders had said to them.  And when they heard it, lifted their voices together with one united mind to God and said, O Sovereign Lord, You are He Who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything that is in them, Who by the mouth of our forefather David, Your servant and child, said through the Holy Spirit, Why did the heathen (Gentiles) become wanton and insolent and rage, and the people imagine and study and plan vain (fruitless) things [that will not succeed]?  The kings of the earth took their stand in array [for attack] and the rulers were assembled and combined together against the Lord and against His Anointed (Christ, the Messiah).  For in this city there actually met and plotted together against Your holy Child and Servant Jesus, Whom You consecrated by anointing, both Herod and Pontius Pilate with the Gentiles and peoples of Israel, To carry out all that Your hand and Your will and purpose had predestined (predetermined) should occur.
• HEB 1:1-2 In many separate revelations [each of which set forth a portion of the Truth] and in different ways God spoke of old to [our] forefathers in and by the prophets, [But] in the last of these days He has spoken to us in [the person of a] Son, Whom He appointed Heir and lawful Owner of all things, also by and through Whom He created the worlds and the reaches of space and the ages of time [He made, produced, built, operated, and arranged them in order].
The Son, in whom God (the WORD or the Spirit of Christ) has spoken to us in the last of these days, was the Lord Jesus, who is the Embodiment or Incarnation of the WORD or the Spirit of Christ, also by and through Whom God created the heavens and the earth, according to these testimonies:
JN 1:1-3 In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.  He was present originally with God.  All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being.
JN 1:10-11 He came into the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him [did not know Him].  He came to that which belonged to Him [to His own—His domain, creation, things, world], and they who were His own did not receive Him and did not welcome Him.
HEB 1:10-12 And [further], You, Lord, did lay the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the works of Your hands.  They will perish, but You remain and continue permanently; they will all grow old and wear out like a garment.  Like a mantle [thrown about one’s self] You will roll them up, and they will be changed and replaced by others. But You remain the same, and Your years will never end nor come to failure.
COL 1:13-17 [The Father] has delivered and [m]drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, In Whom we have our redemption through His blood, [which means] the forgiveness of our sins.  [Now] He is the exact likeness of the unseen God [the visible representation of the invisible]; He is the Firstborn of all creation.  For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen, whether thrones, dominions, rulers, or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him [by His service, intervention] and in and for Him.  And He Himself existed before all things, and in Him all things consist (cohere, are held together).
CONCLUSION:
Therefore, it is indisputable that God called the Son as God, Christ and Lord who created the universe, according to these incontrovertible passages (emphasis mine):
HEB 1:8 But as to the Son, He (referring to the FATHER) says to Him, Your throne, O God (referring to the SON), is forever and ever (to the ages of the ages), and the scepter of Your kingdom is a scepter of absolute righteousness (of justice and straightforwardness).
HEB 1:9 You have loved righteousness [You have delighted in integrity, virtue, and uprightness in purpose, thought, and action] and You have hated lawlessness (injustice and iniquity). Therefore God (referring to the SON), [even] Your God (Godhead, referring to the FATHER), has anointed You with the oil of exultant joy and gladness above and beyond Your companions.
HEB 1:10 And [further], You, Lord (referring to the SON), did lay the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the works of Your hands.
